Career[]

Koichiro Iwasaki joined Ajigawa stable (later renamed Isegahama stable) and made his professional debut in January 1998. Initially wrestling under his surname, he was given the shikona "Anju" (安寿) in May 1998. Anju struggled with injuries throughout his career and was a jonidan mainstay for majority of his career.

In January 2002, he won the jonokuchi yusho with a perfect 7-0 record. He was promoted to sandanme in July 2004, but could only manage two wins in this tournament and it proved to be his only showing in the sandanme division.

Anju retired from sumo in September 2008. After retiring, he returned back to his hometown of Miyakonojo, Miyazaki, where he opened up a chanko restaurant.
