Datenishiki Kazunari - 伊達錦 一成 (born November 12, 1937) is a former Japanese professional sumo wrestler from Wakuya, Miyagi. He made his debut in May 1954 and last wrestled for Dewanoumi stable. He reached the juryo division in July 1963. His highest rank was juryo 16 and he retired in May 1965.

Career[]

Prior to joining sumo, Hirose was engaged in agriculture. He joined Dewanoumi stable and made his professional debut in May 1954, wrestling under the shikona "Datenishiki" (伊達錦). He was promoted to sandanme in May 1956 and makushita in November 1958. He was promoted to juryo in July 1963 and produced an 8-7 record in his first tournament. However, he was unable to establish himself as a sekitori and was demoted back down to makushita in November 1963. He returned to juryo for two more tournaments in 1964 before retiring from sumo in May 1965.

Fighting Style[]

Datenishiki was a yotsu-sumo wrestler who prefers grappling to pushing and thrusting techniques. He favored a hidari-yotsu (right hand outside, left hand inside) position when gripping his opponent's mawashi (belt). His most common kimarite was yorikiri, or force out.
