He reached the sandanme division in September 2013 and would spend most of his career there. He was promoted to makushita in March 2020.[2]

- Peaking at 258 kg (569 Ib), Dewanojo is the fourth heaviest sumo wrestler of all time as of 2025.[2]
Fighting Style[]

Dewanojo defeats Katsunofuji by kimedashi (arm barring force out)
Dewanojo is a yotsu-sumo wrestler who prefers grappling to pushing and thrusting techniques. He won majority of his bouts with a straightforward yorikiri, or force out. Due to his immense size, he is also fond of employing kimedashi, or arm barring force out.[3]
