Fudoyama Subaru - 不動山 昴 (born September 9, 1983) is a former Mongolian professional sumo wrestler from Bayanzurkh, Ulaanbaatar. He made his debut in January 2000 and wrestled for Takashima stable. His highest rank was makushita 38 and he retired in January 2008.
Early Life[]
Luvsandorj was born on September 9, 1983, in Bayanzurkh, Ulaanbaatar. His brother, Tsevegnyam (Kyokutenho), who is nine years his senior, was one of the Mongolian pioneers of sumo. Luvsandorj was unable to join Kyokutenho's stable due to the one foreigner per heya limit, so he joined Takashima stable instead. He was given the shikona "Fudoyama" (不動山) and made his professional debut in January 2000.
Career[]
Fudoyama produced three consecutive winning records from his debut and was promoted to the sandanme division in March 2001. He found the sandanme divison to be quite challenging and could not make it through the division. At times, he also fell back down to the jonidan division. In March 2005, Fudoyama won all seven matches at the rank of jonidan 5 and even defeated Kagemaru in a playoff to claim jonidan the yusho. He followed this result with an impressive 6-1 record which promoted him to the makushita division in July 2005.
Fudoyama struggled in makushita and could only produce two winning records out of his eight total tournaments in the division. He even went winless in the January 2007 tournament. After demotion from the makushita division and more losing records in sandanme, Fudoyama's retirement was announced after the January 2008 tournament.
