Fujitoshi Ryuki - 藤闘志 隆稀 (born November 23, 1998) is a Japanese professional sumo wrestler from Ageo, Saitama. He made his debut in March 2021 and currently wrestles for Fujishima stable. His highest rank as of 2025 is makushita 13.

Early Life[]

Ryuki Suguro was born on November 23, 1998, in Ageo, Saitama. After graduating from Minoshima High School, Suguro enrolled at Takushoku University where he was a member of the school's sumo club.[1] His older brother Ibuki was also a member of the sumo club.[2] After graduating, he opted to go professional joined Fujishima stable.

Career[]

He made his professional debut in March 2021 and initially wrestled under his surname Suguro. In May 2021, during his first official tournament, he finished with a perfect 7-0 record, but missed out on the jonokuchi yusho after losing to stablemate Fujiseiun in the playoff. In November 2021, he was given the shikona "Fujitoshi" (藤闘志). He was promoted to makushita in January 2022 after less than a year in sumo. At the time of his makushita debut, Fujitoshi had not posted a single losing record. He finished with a 6-1 record in his makushita debut and was promoted to makushita 19 for the following March 2022 tournament, however, he finished with a 3-4 record in this tournament.

On the seventh day of the July 2024 tournament, Fujitoshi withdrew due to an injury. He continued to sit out of the following September 2024 tournament and was demoted down to sandanme for the November 2024 tournament. Upon returning to action in November 2024, he won all seven of his matches, including a match against former maegashira Enho, to claim the sandanme yusho with a perfect 7-0 record. He was promoted back to makushita for the following January 2025 tournament.[3]

Fujitoshi is an oshi-sumo wrestler who prefers pushing and thrusting techniques to fighting on the mawashi. His most common kimarite used is a straightforward oshidashi, or push out.[4]
