Fukutsukasa Norihito - 福司 智仁 (born November 24, 1983) is a former Japanese professional sumo wrestler from Hirata, Fukushima. He made his debut in March 1999 and wrestled for Irumagawa stable. His highest rank was sandanme 3 and he retired in November 2005.
Career[]
Tomohito Majima joined Irumagawa stable and made his professional debut in March 1999. Initially wrestling under his surname, he was given the shikona "Fukutsukasa" (福司) in January 2000. Weighing in at a peak 210 kg (463 lb), he was much bigger than most of his opponents, but suffered from injuries throughout his later career. The highlight of his career came when he won the jonidan yusho in November 2003. He retired from sumo in November 2005 after failing to make it past the sandanme division.
Fighting Style[]
Fukutsukasa was an oshi-sumo wrestler who prefers pushing and thrusting techniques to fighting on the mawashi. His most common kimarite used was a straightforward oshidashi, or push out.
