
Ozeki Shimizugawa was the stable's top wrestler
Hatachiyama stable (二十山部屋, Hatachiyama-beya) was a stable of sumo wrestlers. It was established in 1901 by the 17th yokozuna Konishiki I. It closed its doors in March 1943, and its staff transferred to Futabayama Dojo (later renamed Tokitsukaze stable).
History[]
Hatachiyama stable was established in 1901 by the 17th yokozuna Konishiki who branched off from Takasago stable. After Konishiki's death in 1914, former komusubi Konishiki II assumed the role of head coach and trained ozeki Shimizugawa who went on to win three championships. Konishiki II died in 1943 and the stable closed with all its personell transferring to Futabayama Dojo (later renamed Tokitsukaze stable).
