Hienriki Keisuke - 飛燕力 敬介 (born March 6, 1983) is a Japanese professional sumo wrestler from Tsubame, Niigata. He made his debut in March 1998 and currently wrestles for Oshiogawa stable. His highest rank as of 2025 is makushita 29.

Career[]

Kikkawa joined Oshiogawa stable and made his debut in March 1998 shortly after his 15th birthday. He made his professional debut alongside Hayateumi, Tamanoshima, Kitataiki, and Tamaasuka. In July 1999, he finished with a 6-1 record in jonokuchi and was placed in a six-man playoff for the yusho, however, he lost to eventual yusho winner Hasegawa in the final round.

He reached the sandanme division in September 2002, but was only ranked there for one tournament. In March 2003, he was given the shikona "Hienriki" (飛燕力). In March 2005, he transferred to Oguruma stable upon the closure of Oshiogawa stable.

In July 2014, Hienriki won his first six matches and was aiming for the sandanme yusho. On the 13th day, he defeated Abiko, who was on 20 match win streak since his entry into sumo, to claim the championship. He was promoted to makushita for the following September 2014 tournament, however, he finished with a 1-6 record in this tournament and was demoted back down to sandanme. This proved to be his only tournament in makushita.

On the sixth day of the May 2018 tournament, Hienriki withdrew due to a serious injury sustained in his previous match. This marked the first time he missed a match since his debut, ending a streak of 834 consecutive matches. Due to his age, he avoided surgery and worked instead on strengthening his lower body to overcome the injury.[1] He returned to action in the following July 2018 tournament where he finished with a 4-3 record.

Following the closure of Oguruma stable in January 2022, he moved to Oshiogawa stable in February 2022. As of 2025, he is the only remaining active wrestler to wrestle for the original Oshiogawa stable.[2]

Fighting Style[]

Hienriki's Fighting Style

Hienriki defeats Tochinoshima by uwatenage (overarm throw)

Hienriki is a yotsu-sumo wrestler who prefers grappling to pushing and thrusting techniques. He favors a migi-yotsu (left hand outside, right hand inside) position when gripping his opponent's mawashi (belt).[3] His most common kimarite is yorikiri, or force out. He is also fond of employing uwatenage, or overarm throw.[4]
