Ozeki Kyushuzan was the stable's top wrestler
Irumagawa stable (入間川部屋, Irumagawa-beya) was a stable of sumo wrestlers. It was established in January 1912 by former komusubi Ryogoku. It closed its doors in December 1922, and its staff transferred to Dewanoumi stable. (see Irumagawa stable for most recent reincarnation)
History[]
In January 1912, recently retired komusubi Ryogoku branched off from Dewanoumi stable and established Irumagawa stable. Among the wrestlers that transferred to his newly formed stable was future ozeki Kyushuzan. In January 1923, Dewanoumi Oyakata (the 19th yokozuna Hitachiyama) suddenly died. Irumagawa Oyakata obtained the Dewanoumi elder stock and merged both Irumagawa and Dewanoumi stable.
