Kakueizan Shusei - 鶴英山 秀誠 (born January 23, 2003) is a Japanese professional sumo wrestler from Toyama City, Toyama. He made his debut in May 2025 and currently wrestles for Otowayama stable. His highest rank as of 2025 is makushita 50.
Early Life[]
Shusei Urayama was born on January 23, 2002, in Toyama City, Toyama Prefecture. He began sumo wrestling at an early age, as his father was a sumo coach and mentor to future ozeki Asanoyama. Urayama attended Kureha Junior High School where in his third year, he finished runner-up at the National Junior High School Championship.[1] He then attended Toyama Prefectural Toyama Commercial High School where he produced strong results in the prefectural level.[2]
After high school, he continued to follow in Asanoyama's footsteps by enrolling at Kinki University in Osaka. During his fourth year, he reached the quarter-finals of the National Student Sumo Championship which qualified him for makushita tsukedashi status. Although he initially wanted to become a teacher like his father, who passed away in 2017, he felt it was something he could pursue later in life and decided to try professional sumo after being persuaded by Otowayama Oyakata (the 71st yokozuna Kakuryu).[3]
Career[]
After graduating university, Urayama entered Otowayama stable. He made his professional debut in May 2025 and due to his amateur accomplishments, he was granted special dispensation which allowed him to make his debut at the bottom of the makushita division. He finished with an underwhelming 4-3 record in his professional debut.[4]
Fighting Style[]

Kakueizan is a yotsu-sumo wrestler who prefers grappling to pushing and thrusting techniques. He won most of his bouts with a straightforward yorikiri, or force out.[5]
