Career[]
Early Career[]
He made his professional debut in March 2022 under the shikona "Kazekeno" (風賢央). He won the jonokuchi yusho in May 2022 with a 6-1 record. He went on to produce three more consecutive 6-1 records and was promoted to makushita in January 2023. In his makushita debut, Kazekeno was aiming for the makushita yusho and won his first six matches before losing to Ochiai in his final match. Nevertheless, he continued to post strong records and was promoted to the rank of makushita 6 in July 2023. However, beginning in July 2023, Kazekeno fell into a three tournament slump and was demoted to the mid-level makushita ranks for the January 2024 tournament. In March 2024, while ranked at makushita 13, Kazekeno won all seven of his matches to claim the makushita yusho and subsequently ensured promotion to juryo.[4]
Juryo Career[]
In his juryo debut, Kazekeno narrowly missed out on a winning record and finished with a 7-8 record. However, being ranked at the very bottom of juryo at West Juryo 14, Kazekeno was demoted back to makushita for the July 2024 tournament. After four tournaments in makushita, Kazekeno returned to juryo in March 2025.[4]
Personal Life[]
- Kazekeno was born in Hiroshima City's Asakita Ward where he spent the first two years of his life. Due to his father's job transfers, he moved frequently and relocated to Ehime Prefecture in his third year of elementary school.
