Kotonomori Takamori - 琴乃盛 隆盛 (born June 11, 1980) is a former Brazilian professional sumo wrestler from Piedade, Sao Paulo. He made his debut in March 1999 and wrestled for Sadogatake stable. His highest rank was jonidan 69 and he retired in January 2000.

Career[]

Japanese-Brazilian Mario Fuchiue joined Sadogatake stable in March 1999. He was given the shikona "Kotonomori" (琴乃盛). In his first professional tournament, he produced a 5-2 record and was promoted to the jonidan division. He continued to win and produced three consecutive 4-3 records which promoted him to a career-best jonidan 69 in January 2000.

Retirement from Sumo[]

Kotonomori never produced a losing record, but after sitting out of the January 2000 tournament, his retirement was announced after.

Upon retirement, Kotonomori returned to Brazil. According to his LinkedIn account, he currently works as a broker in Piedade, Sao Paulo, Brazil.

Fighting Style[]

Kotonomori is a tsuki/oshi specialist, who prefers pushing and thrusting at his opponents rather than fighting on the mawashi or belt. His most common winning kimarite or technique is oshidashi (push out) and tsukidashi (thrust out). He only one once on the belt.
