Kyokumizuno Sho - 旭水野 翔 (born March 12, 2004) is a Japanese professional sumo wrestler from Asahi, Toyama. He made his debut in March 2022 and currently wrestles for Oshima stable. His highest rank as of 2025 is sandanme 8.
Early Life[]
Sho Mizuno was born on March 12, 2004, in Asahi, Toyama, to a Filipino mother and a Japanese father. He practiced judo up until his second year of high school. After becoming the prefectural champion at the 100+ kg weight class, Mizuno switched to sumo. After graduating from Toyama Commercial High School, he was approached and recruited into Oshima stable.[1]
Career[]
He made his professional debut in March 2022 and was given the shikona "Kyokumizuno" (旭水野). In November 2022, Kyokumizuno finished with a strong 6-1 record with his only loss coming from former juryo wrestler Asashiyu. He was promoted to sandanme in July 2023.[2]

Kyokumizuno is an oshi-sumo wrestler who prefers pushing and thrusting techniques to fighting on the mawashi. His most common kimarite used is a straightforward oshidashi (push out).[3]
