Miyanohana Yuzo - 宮乃花 勇三 (born February 13, 1964) is a former Japanese professional sumo wrestler from Hekinan, Aichi. He made his debut in May 1985 and wrestled for Miyagino stable. His highest rank was makushita 44 and he retired in May 1990.
Early Life[]
Yuzo Okada was born on February 13, 1964, in Hekinan, Aichi. His father was a former sumo wrestler who belonged to Miyagino stable. Upon graduating from Aichi Institute of Technology Meiden Junior and Senior High School, he enrolled at Kinki University where he was a member of the school's sumo club. He later decided to become a professional sumo wrestler and joined Miyagino stable.
Career[]
Me made his professional debut in May 1985 and was given the shikona "Miyanohana" (宮乃花). In his first tournament, he was aiming for the jonokuchi yusho and won his first six matches before losing his final match to Kamiarashi. He followed with two more 6-1 records and was promoted to sandanme in January 1986. He was promoted to makushita in March 1987 and reached a career-best makushita 44 in May 1988.
Retirement from Sumo[]
He retired from sumo in May 1990. After retiring, Miyanohana opened up a chanko restaurant called "Chankonabe Yagura" (ちゃんこ鍋 やぐら) in his hometown of Hekinan, Aichi.
