The old Michinoku premises, now being used by Nakamura stable
Nakamura stable (中村部屋, Nakamura-beya), is a stable of sumo wrestlers, part of the Nishonoseki ichimon or group of stables. It was formed by former sekiwake Yoshikaze in June 2024 after he branched off from Nishonoseki stable.
As of July 2024, it has eight wrestlers.
The stable is located in the old premises of Michinoku stable, which closed earlier in 2024. It is the closest stable to the Kokugikan, a mere 150 meters away.
History[]
In June 2024, Nakamura-oyakata (ex-Yoshikaze), branched out from Nishonoseki stable, taking rikishi he had recruited into sumo, mainly from his alma mater of Nippon Sport Science University and wrestlers who had transferred with him from the closing Oguruma stable to Nishonoseki stable.
