Narutaki Kazuki - 鳴滝 翔月 (born November 13, 1998) is a Japanese professional sumo wrestler from Kyoto City, Kyoto. He made his debut in November 2016 and currently wrestles for Isenoumi stable. His highest rank as of 2025 is makushita 10.
Early Life[]
Although he played baseball in elementary school, Hanai was invited by an advisor of the sumo club at Kyoto Municipal Saga Junior High School. Hanai accepted the invitation and began sumo wrestling during his first year of junior high school.[1] During his time at Hiyoshigaoka High School, Hanai made top 32 at the National High School Sumo Championship in his first and third year. After graduating high school, he joined Isenoumi stable because his brother was already a wrestler in the stable.[2]
Career[]
He made his professional debut in November 2016 and was given the shikona "Narutaki" (鳴滝) which had been used by three makuuchi wrestlers in the Edo period. He finished with a 6-1 record in his first tournament, but missed out on the jonokuchi yusho after losing to Wakayama in the playoff. In September 2017, he finished with a perfect 7-0 record and won the jonidan yusho. He reached the makushita division in January 2019. In May 2021, he ruptured the muscle in his right arm and had to sit out of two tournaments which resulted in a drop back down to sandanme.[3] Nevertheless, he returned to makushita in January 2022.[4]
Personal Life[]
- Narutaki's older brother, Yuto Hanai, is also a professional sumo wrestler at Isenoumi stable. He wrestles under the shikona "Kyonosato" (京の里) and has not made it pass the jonidan division.[5]
Fighting Style[]

Narutaki defeats Hamayutaka by oshidashi (push out)
Narutaki is an oshi-sumo wrestler who prefers pushing and thrusting techniques to fighting on the mawashi. His most common kimarite used is a straightforward oshidashi, or push out.[6]
