Takamiwaka Kiyokazu - 高見若 清一 (born December 12, 1969 - October 23, 1996) was a Japanese professional sumo wrestler from Sanjo, Niigata. He made his debut in January 1986 and wrestled for Azumazeki stable. His highest rank was makushita 12 and he retired in September 1995.
Career[]
Kiyoshi Hoshino joined Takasago stable and made his professional debut in January 1986. Shortly after entering professional sumo, he transferred to the newly established Azumazeki stable in February 1986. In March 1986, he was given the shikona "Takamiwaka" (高見若). He was promoted to sandanme in March 1987 and makushita in July 1988. Starting from September 1992, Takamiwaka began performing the bow-twirling ceremony and he continued to perform the ceremony until his retirement in September 1995. He reached a career-best makushita 12 in July 1994, but he could only finish with a 1-6 record.
Retirement from Sumo[]
After retiring from sumo in September 1995, he served as yokozuna Akebono's manager, however, he died on October 23, 1996, due to peptic ulcer disease after only retiring a year before. He was 26 years old.

Takamiwaka was a yotsu-sumo wrestler who prefers grappling to pushing and thrusting techniques. His most common kimarite was yorikiri (force out) and yoritaoshi (frontal crush out).
