Takashima stable
Takashima stable (高島部屋, Takashima-beya) was a stable of sumo wrestlers, part of the Tatsunami ichimon or group of stables. It was established in May 1993 by former sekiwake Koboyama of the Kumagatani stable. It closed its doors in June 2011, and its staff transferred to Kasugayama stable.
History[]
Takashima stable was established in May 1993 by former sekiwake Koboyama of Kumagatani stable. The stable took in two Mongolians in 2000-2001, Daitensho and Fudoyama, the latter being the brother of Kyokutenho. Both Mongolians made makushita but failed to reach sekitori status. The stable never produced a single sekitori wrestler.
The stable closed in June 2011 when its only remaining wrestler retired, and Takashima moved to Kasugayama stable to work as a coach there.
