
Takekuma Stable
Takekuma stable (武隈部屋, Takekuma-beya) is a stable of sumo wrestlers, one of the Dewanoumi group of stables. It broke off from Sakaigawa stable by its founder, Ozeki Goeido, and officially opened in February 2022.
As of January 2023 it has 6 active sumo wrestlers.
History[]
The stable was established in February 2022 by former ozeki Goeido. In May 2022 Nishikawa (now Gonoyama) became the first member of the stable to be promoted to the juryo division and, in July 2023, he became the first member of the stable to reach the makuuchi division.
Ring Name Conventions[]
Many wrestlers in this stable have ring names or shikona that start in the character 豪 (read: go), meaning overpowering or powerful, in deference to the head coach, former Goeido. Examples include Gonoyama, Goseiryu and Gonowaka.
