Tamadaiki Tsuyoshi - 玉大輝 剛志 (born November 2, 1988) is a former Japanese professional sumo wrestler from Noto, Ishikawa. He made his debut in March 2007 and wrestled for Kataonami Stable. His highest rank was makushita 16 and he retired in January 2016.

Early Life[]

Tsuyoshi Hisayama attended Kanazawa Municipal Technical High School where he was a member of the school's sumo club. After graduating, he decided to go professional and joined Kataonami stable because their top wrestler, Tamanoshima, attended the same high school as him.[1]

Career[]

Hisayama made his professional debut in March 2007 alongside Tanzo, Tosayutaka, Tokushinho, Daishoumi, and Chiyoarashi. He was given the shikona "Tamadaiki" (玉大輝) and he finished with a strong 6-1 record in his first professional tournament, with his only lost coming against Tosayutaka. He was promoted to sandanme in November 2007 and makushita in November 2008. He reached a career-best makushita 16 in July 2012, but finished with a disastrous 1-6 record. He spent the majority of his later career bouncing back and forth between sandanme and makushita.[2]

Retirement from Sumo[]

Tamadaiki retired from sumo in January 2016 and returned back to his hometown of Noto, Ishikawa, where he works for a local real estate agency.[3][4]
