Tokitsukasa Kenji - 暁司 健二 (born January 2, 1982) is a former Japanese professional sumo wrestler from Nagoya, Aichi. He made his debut in November 2001 and wrestled for Irumagawa stable. His highest rank was makushita 12 and he retired in July 2011.
Early Life[]
Kenji Kanegae was born in Nagoya's Higashi Ward on January 2, 1982. After graduating high school, he enrolled at the local Aichi Gakuen University where he was a member of the school's sumo club. He later dropped out and joined Irumagawa stable.
Career[]
He made his professional debut in November 2001 and initially wrestled under his surname "Kanegae" (鐘ヶ江). In his first tournament, he was aiming for the jonokuchi yusho and won his first six matches, but lost his final match to Anju. Upon promotion to sandanme in July 2002, he was given the shikona "Tokitsukasa" (暁司). In March 2003, he finished with a perfect 7-0 record, but missed out on the sandanme yusho after losing to Aoba in a playoff. Nevertheless, he was promoted to makushita for the following May 2003 tournament. In his first makushita tournament, Tokitsukasa finished with a strong 6-1 record.
Tokitsukasa had to miss two tournaments in 2005 due to injuries and was relegated back down to lower sandanme. He won the sandanme yusho with a 7-0 record in January 2006 and was promoted to a career-best makushita 12 rank for the following March 2006 tournament. Tokitsukasa suffered another injury and had to miss a total of five tournaments during a six tournament span. He returned to sumo in July 2007 and won the jonokuchi yusho with a perfect 7-0 record. He eventually returned to makushita in September 2008. He retired from sumo in July 2011.
Fighting Style[]

Tokitsukasa defeats Tamao by tsukitaoshi (frontal thrust down)
Tokitsukasa was an oshi-sumo wrestler who prefers pushing and thrusting techniques to fighting on the mawashi. His most common kimarite used was a straightforward oshidashi, or push out.
