Early Life[]

Daiki Sue was born on July 5, 1999, in Chikujo, Fukuoka. He attended Fukuoka Kaisei High School and was a member of the sumo club.[1] After graduating, he enrolled at Kyushu Institute of Information Sciences to continue his amateur sumo career. In his fourth year, he reached the top 16 at the National Student Sumo Championships, and on the same day, he was recruited into Tamanoi stable by Tamanoi Oyakata (former ozeki Tochiazuma).[2]

Career[]

He made his professional debut in January 2022 and was given the shikona "Toseiryu" (東誠竜). In May 2022, he was aiming for the jonidan yusho, but lost his final match to Hanafusa to finish with a 6-1 record. He had to withdraw midway during the July 2022 tournament due to a COVID-19 outbreak in his stable,[3] but luckily he had already acquired a winning record. He was promoted to sandanme in September 2022 and makushita in January 2023.[4]

Toseiryu stood out in the May 2025 tournament when he defeated former ozeki Asanoyama, handing him his only loss of the tournament.[4]
