Uehara Sho - 上原 昌 (born October 20, 1996) is a former Japanese professional sumo wrestler from Tsuruta, Aomori. He made his debut in September 2016 and wrestled for Musashigawa stable. His highest rank was jonidan 63 and he retired in January 2017.
Early Life[]
Sho Uehara was born on October 20, 1996, in the town of Tsuruta in Aomori Prefecture. He attended Goshogawara Agricultural & Forestry High School where he was a member of the school's sumo club.[1] After high school, he enrolled at Kinki University where he was a member of the school's sumo club. He had always aspired to become a professional sumo wrestler and decided to drop out of school midway in order to get a head start in his professional sumo career.[2] He dropped out alongside college teammates, Midorifuji and Nishikifuji, and subsequently joined Musashigawa stable, while Midorifuji and Nishikifuji joined Isegahama stable.[3]
Career[]
Uehara made his professional debut in September 2016 and finished with a 5-2 record in his first official tournament. However, he retired shortly after in January 2017 after only three tournaments in sumo.[4]

- Uehara's hobby is listening to music. His favorite foods are meat and ramen.[2]

Uehara was an oshi-sumo wrestler who prefers pushing and thrusting techniques to fighting on the mawashi. His most common kimarite used were oshidashi (push out) and oshitaoshi (push down).[5]
