Unzenyama Naotoshi - 雲仙山 尚敏 (born July 3, 1938) is a former Japanese professional sumo wrestler from Kazusa, Nagasaki. He made his debut in January 1955 and last wrestled for Nishonoseki stable. He reached the juryo division in May 1960. His highest rank was juryo 7 and he retired in May 1963.

Career[]

Born in Kazusa, Nagasaki, Iwanaga joined Nishonoseki stable and made his professional debut in January 1955. Initially wrestling under his surname, after his was promoted to makushita in 1958, he was given the shikona "Uzenyama" (雲仙山). He was promoted to juryo in May 1960, but only lasted one tournament after finishing with a 3-12 record. From the 10th day of the January 1962 tournament, he served as the yumitori-shiki (bow twirler) to mark the end of the tournament day. He returned to juryo in the following March 1962 tournament and was ranked there for six consecutive tournaments. he retired in May 1963.

Fighting Style[]

Unzenyama was a yotsu-sumo wrestler who prefers grappling to pushing and thrusting techniques. He favored a migi-yotsu (left hand outside, right hand inside) position when gripping his opponent's mawashi (belt). His most common kimarite was uwatenage, or overarm throw.
