Yamawake Stable (山分部屋, Yamawake-beya) was a stable of sumo wrestlers, part of the Dewanoumi ichimon or group of stables. It was established in May 1925 by former sekiwake Otoiwa. It closed in April 1949 with all personnel transferring to Dewanoumi stable.
History[]
Yamawake stable was established in May 1925 by former sekiwake Otoiwa who branched off from Dewanoumi stable. Yamawake Oyakata left the Japan Sumo Association in November 1944 and the stable was inherited by former maegashira Komanosato. However, the stable closed five years later in April 1949 and all personnel transferred to Dewanoumi stable.
